Hi! I just joined BYC, but have used this site to gather tons of valuable information regarding raising chickens. I am excited to be a part of your flock.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chickens do you have?

We have 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Ameracaunas, 2 Silver-laced Wyandottes and 1 Buff Orpington. We had a Maran as well, but she died of pneumonia at 3 weeks. Our babies are about 7 weeks now and we are absolutely loving this experience.

You have a nice mix of breeds. I'm sorry about the loss of your Maran. It's always sad to lose one of our flock, and Marans have such gorgeous chocolate eggs. In my personal opinion, they are the prettiest eggs in the chicken world. Hopefully you will be able to get another Maran. Good luck with the rest of your flock.
