I've had DIS chicks in a very uneventful incubations as well, where others hatched just fine. No telling.

It happens. It is not the first failed hatch I have had and most likely won't be the last. Sad but true. I am not willing to give up or throw in the towel. I want a certain breed and color and I won't stop till I get it - within reason - you all know what I mean. I may be hatching the same eggs this time next year. Eventually I'll get there. On a brighter note - who knew I could do so well with geese? LOL

This can happen with shipped eggs, it is always a gamble.... I've just kept on trying, til I get what I want too.

Are you serious? My bator goes from 97 to 107 in a few hours....without me touching it! I have NEVER been able to see movement in my eggs. I have a bad light though. With mine, I know "stars" mean it will hatch in a few days and I know "shadows" been it will hatch very very soon....i bet they all hatch. I have a terrible thermometer and no hygrometer and so far out of 8 chicken eggs, I've had 3 hatch and two more are rocking and cheeping at me today! eggs are tough. dont you dare give up~!!!!!

Thanks Storm-we'll just have to see. I guess I haven't toally given up hope, but I don't want to dwell on it either. It keep the humidity and temps as steady as I can and wait until day 25 before I throw in the towel completely.

Sooo sorry - I had to toss two dozen shipped eggs - temp dropped - I did get one chick...it is heartbreaking to lose a hatch....but I am excited - my 4 sebastapol geese eggs are being shipped Monday -

Sure hope they hatch!!!!!! I was a nervous wreck with MissPrissy's geese eggs - I will probably go crazy with my own!!!

I only got one chick from my maran eggs. There are only two that have movement but here i am on now day 23 and wonder if any more will hatch. To say the least very disappointing. I'm waiting on a bunch of eggs and my hovabator is due to arrive on monday so I hope for better sucess. The breeder of the marans is usally pretty good about replacing eggs I hear but I will give it another couple of days before
I contact her.
