RIP Salt

Get home. Chickens all hiding. Not a good sign. Can’t find Salt. Hawk flies out of the bushes. You guess the rest.
Salt (nicknames: Salty, Salty Bean, Bean, Bean Bean, Baby Bean, Beanie Baby, and Baby Bean Bean) was the happiest, most loving little Dominique. She was so sweet and gave the best cuddles. Her rose comb was so perfect. Every time I visited the chickens she would come up and and say: “brak wak wak” so sweetly. She was so little but she held her own and was at the top of the pecking order. She had one little white feather on her breast that I saved. She was calm and sweet and funny and never failed to make me smile. She had an “eye freckle” in her left eye that was always so cute. She lost her twin sister in September last year right after her and her 4 brood mates survived cocidiosis. Now I don’t have any Dominiques left. I will miss her with the whole of my heart for the rest of my days but I’ll always try to remember all the joy she brought me instead of the sorrow.

I'm so sorry you lost her. She was a beautiful little girl. :hugs:hugs❤️

I’m so sorry! I just noticed this.:hit I know exactly how you feel. I bet that it happened so fast, salt couldn’t feel a thing. Salt sounds like she would be great friends with Liz. They probably are. Salt is definitely very happy, with all the mealworms she can eat, and free range without hawks.

I'm sorry EE. It can be so hard to lose something close to your heart. 💗
She really was beautiful and you gave her the best life she could have had; free ranging! My chickens don't do that!
Thanks so much. It means a lot to hear from everyone
