Ripped comb-5 month old hen

some weird accident with the roosting bar in our coop happened while gone. The bar was found splintered and the hen's comb was about hanging off all bloody :(. We put peroxide on it, but don't know what else to do. I wondered if there was something you could put in the water for pain, or just to relax the hen to keep her quiet while it heals a little bit more. She seems OK and moving around well

The flour would be great. It would act as a coagulent accelerator.

But I would NOT put something in the water, because its difficult to get the right dosage. And if you are even slightly off you could cause trouble for the others drinking from the same trough, bowl, etc.

The flour helped. True about the water. Guess they are tougher than we thought
