Well, I was showing off my best sumatra roo's spurs last night, and I saw that he'd popped two toenails off. No blood, on him or in the coop, nothing, just two little scabs at the end of his toes. He's acting completely normal, not in pain as far as I can tell, but I'm still wondering--if it's scabbed over can it still get infected on a free-range bird? And will the toenails grow back if they've been ripped out like that?
Ahh, thanks everyone. It's cleaned and everything. Just hoping it grows back now...
