Hi all... I am a lifelong chicken hater. Not hate, exactly, but fear. My grammar school was a working farm and we harvest a boat load of chickens each fall and they never ceased to scare me. Now, I'm a grown up with kids of my own, living on a ranch in Utah and my kids want chickens. So, now we have chickens. Somehow, my own little flock of 8 is not scary at all! Even Snowball, our potential rooster, is kind of cool. So, thanks for all your chicken knowledge.

Raising layers for the most part. They are all dual purpose birds, though, and we had planned on eating any roosters. But Snowball is pretty awesome and we will keep him around unless he starts waking us up earlier than our usual 5:30 am wake up time.
