RIR? Also, possible genders?

Hello! So we are extremely new at this. I've read and read, but honestly I think that until you do it, you don't know it. So, we are allowed 4 urban egg-layers. We decided to go with RIR. We purchased 5 in case some didn't make it. Three of them are about 4 weeks old, and two of them are 3 weeks old (that's all they had at the L&M Supply store). So after doing some reading on here, I realize that's not the best place to get your chicks, and also they are not sexed. So I have 2 questions:

1-Do these look like real RIR?

2-Any guesses on their sex from what you can tell in the picture? Or traits I can look for this early to tell?

Thank you!

Yes they look like RIR hatchery quality. Nothing wrong with that. They are a bit young to tell sex. Watch for pink combs at 6-10 weeks which generally means roosters. Pullets will remain yellow orange for a while longer.

Oh good! Thank you for your reply. Here are a couple of more pictures.

They won't be the really dark mahogany that breeder RIR are, but they should be fairly productive, and lay nice brown eggs for you, the hens at least. :)

They look like hatchery Reds to me too. I raise both Rose Comb and Single Comb Rhode Island Reds. My females usually start to get their tail feathers before the males do.
