RIR and BR roo or pullet

See the difference? Difference in feather barring genes between males and females. The cockerel sprouts secondary sex characteristics, ie, comb and wattles months before the pullets do.

This is common to almost all single combed varieties.

Watch the one in pic #3, it may be a roo... I'm not too sure, though.

Ok thank you I'm praying for all pullets but I have this gut feeling that I have at least 1 roo

Both of your RIR's look like pullets to me. My RIR roo's are always very apparent by the time they are about 4 weeks old with a much larger, pinker comb and little wattles coming in.

Thanks in hoping they are both pullets, its so funny, one day I'll look at them and think to myself ok they definitely look like girls then the next day I'll swear they look like roos, my husband thinks I'm going crazy lol

UPDATE..... ok here are some updated pics of my babies.... they are all 7 weeks old now. I have 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Barred Rocks. I keep going back and forth between pullet or cockerel. One day I'll swear they are all pullets and the next I'll swear they are all cockerels lol, Please help....
