He will most likely be fine. The Australorps will probably out pace all of them. The Australorp strain I have mature fast.

I came home from visiting my husband in the hospital and Jellybean was lying limp on his/her side in the brooder. I'm holding Jelly now and it looks like he/she will probably pass on soon. I had so much hope for the little fella......

I have one that is lagging behind the others. She eats (and poops) well. In fact, she stands up to the self appointed mother hen in the brooder.

She's breathing and still chirping when I bother her, but she draws to one side and postures her head all the way until it touches her back. Right now, she's on her side and breathing harder. Probably won't be much longer.....

Oh no..... gotta hate it when this happens, well, i guess not every chick can live. If he/she passes on, just remember you have him/her the best life you could....

Poor thing. That is sad. Be strong and you are doing all you can to keep JellyBean comfortable until the end

so sorry!

I have two RIR mix chicks I got from Ideal (their version of red sex links) and they are maturing slower than the other 8 chicks. Their size is the same just the tail is a little knob and only half feathered compared to the rest. I thought it was weird but maybe it's the breed. Here's a pic......
