Yep that's a RIR! She doesn't have a beard or tufts. This was taken at a couple days old and she was really fluffy. Might be the angle of the photo, but definitely a RIR.

Okay. Do you have any recent pics? I'd like to see her grown up!

Here is our little Reba. She was just caught stealing the tomatos...AGAIN! In the photo she was trying to act as though nothing was happening. She was saying, "The peck marks in the maters were from the quail. Of course I would never do anything like that. Really!"

Ok, I just took some more photos of her tonight to share and hopefully figure out the mystery. If I am wrong thinking RIR I will withdraw from the contest, that's not a big deal to me. When I bought her I was told she was RIR and looked like every other photo of RIR's I have seen, and the other 4 I bought with her. She is one of my most friendly birds and comes to me when ever I go in with the birds and always has been. That's how I got the close up I posted. I always thought she was cute because she was just a little fluffier than the rest and had more personality. Help me figure out what she is if I am wrong, or if I was misinformed when I bought her. I know with the yellow legs she is not an EE, I do have 5 of those and two with tufts. She looks nothing like those and never did when she was a chick. She is also has much darker feathering than my New Hampshires and doesn't look like a buckeye to me, so what else? She does have the red tint to the front of her legs and what I would call mahogany color.

Hmmm. Overall she IS looking RIReddish- but in that first pic looks like she still has cheeks, little ones, though....

Was she a hatchery chick? She might have been cross-bred with an EE or something...

That is at the top of my list of things to buy when I have a little "extra" money. Things are a bit tight right now and the $60.00 is best spent elsewhere. But I will have a copy soon when things settle down, I hope.
