I have one particular Rhode Island Red hen who stands guard over the eggs in the nests when I come in to collect them.
She follows me around anytime I enter their coop, and even tries to peck me when I go to pick up the eggs.
And Oh, does she cackle when I start collecting those eggs! She fusses and fusses. She definitely considers me to be a thief, and if she was big and bad enough to do something more than cackle about it, I think I'd be in a world of trouble!
