This may not be a problem... I'm not sure... but I thought I had better check in with the experts on this one...

So... all you experts (I consider those who deal with chickens on a daily basis to be the experts... I am a newbie though.

)....

I have 3 RIR hens who have continued to lay regularly even in this cold weather (good girls)...

Yesterday we gathered the eggs and one of them was white.

It was a white egg with a few brown speckles here and there...

Should I be worried about her health?

Is this just something that happens sometimes?

Is this a sign of a certain deficiency?

I would appreciate your input.

I got a white egg from one of my mixed usually lays a tan egg but this one was pure white, just a hick-up in the system I think since the next day her egg was the normal color.

VERY good to hear.

Actually one of my hens is RIR and the other 2 are RIR/RIW mix...

So it might have been one of the mixes that laid the egg.

Thanks so much for your reply.
