Hey everyone i was wondering what would happen if you put a RIR roo over Leghorn... i believe brown eggs are dominant, and was wondering if this was correct, and if so would the offspring be a high production brown egg layer? Even more so than a RIR? if anyone has done this already, Pleas post PICS =]=]=] Thanks =]

The egg color from this cross will be cream colored, kinda an off/bone-white. Should make for some good egg producing birds as both the parent stock breeds are good layers and throw in the heterosis factor(hybrid vigor). The hatcheries have been cross breeding White Leghorns with many different breeds for years to produce super-duper commercial type layers.
