RIR production vs. show

I have what the guy called a production red or production RIR.
She is 8 weeks old and is a sweety (although personally my least favorite)
What is the difference between a RIR and a production RIR.
Also when do RIR start laying?

I know that Ideal and other hatcheries sell what they call Production Reds. They also sell RIRs, though nowhere near what they should be. The production reds are not pure RIRs, as I understand it, sort of a cross between RIR and New Hampshire Reds, which would explain the dull orangey-red color most of them have rather than the deep mahogany of a true RIR.
 
Not the same at all. Read the thread I just posted for you and you will see the difference in the pictures. Most RIR will lay from 5 to 6 months of age. Sometimes it depends on when their hatched such as coming into lay during fall and winter months may delay them a bit.
