My RIR started laying pretty frequently she would normally do 3 on 1 off. For about two weeks. Then we had a front come through and it got down into the low 30s and rained for a few days. Since that point she has completely stopped laying. This is her first year laying(hatched mid April).
I'm in Texas, she has 2 slightly younger flockmate pullets who haven't quite reached laying age. She free ranges the backyard and puts herself to roost in her coop each night. The coop is 4'x4'x4' with a small window in the top foot on 2/4 faces in addition to the door.
Is this normal because of the lower amount of sun this time of year? I see a lot of mention about hens laying without supplemental light so I'm wondering what more experienced folks think.
