This past Saturday (it is now Friday) my RIR was attacked by a dog. She seemed fine, the dog just got a chunk of feathers. Over the last few days I've noticed that she has been moving more slowly. Today I noticed that she walks with her tail down.
She walks slowly and almost with a limp, it seems. I haven't really been able to observe her when eating feed, but when free ranging during the day she seems to be pecking and eating bugs and things just fine. When I pick her up and flip her over to look at her stomach (the place where all of the feathers are gone from the dog), she flaps around like crazy. She used to go limp instead. I can't get a good look at her underside. She also hasn't given us an egg in 3 or 4 days. Unless she is laying them in the yard. She might not feel like walking all the way back to the coop. Does anyone have an idea of what may be wrong? And if it is related to the dog attack?
