I went out to feed and water my chickens this morning and one of them was laying right by the door and didn't move when I opened it. I looked closely and her comb is partially black, she is an RIR about 19 weeks old. I moved her away from the door and gave her water and food right next to her. She stood up but was moving very slowly. It hasn't been that hot lately, in fact yesterday we had a nice rain storm and it cooled off quite a bit. Any ideas? I can try to get a picture too. Yesterday when I was out with them everyone was fine so this is very recent. Thanks

From what I've read on here, the comb issue is caused by a cardiovascular issue. Try giving her some vitamins/electrolyte solution or some unflavored pedialyte to help her. I hope she pulls through!

I have some unflavored pedialyte I will try that, thanks!

Black or dark purple combs can be indicative of a stroke as well. You may want to isolate her and give her some TLC. Keep an eye on her and see if she steadies up.

Well she didn't make it. I have no clue what was wrong but it went wrong for her quickly I guess
