I have a question on crossing a BR roo over a RIR/NHR hen. I know the reverse will give a BSL.

Does anyone have any experience with this cross?

Thanks in advance for any info.

That is the info I was looking for. Thank you so much!

I did a half dozen searches looking for some results and nothing. You saved the day.

If you breed yours first, let me know what the outcome is

I won't be breeding till spring, my chicks are only a couple of months old and way to young to start laying any time soon.

I have several crosses with BR rooster over RIRs, Buff Orps, Ameraucanas, etc. All chicks get barring to some degree. Cuban Longtails has several from my flock who turned out really nice. I particularly like the BR/BBS Ameraucanas, who give you EEs that lay green eggs. Some get beards and muffs, some get just muffs, some get neither.

When I saw your title, I thought it was about black sexlinks, but what you meant was BR x RIR (the rooster is written first).

Tim's projects are so cool!

They are..
