Hi all, it's been a LOOONG time since I've had chickens but that looks to be changing soon.
My friend just bought a flock of Delawares, including a roo, and I'm going to look at some RIRs tomorrow. There are also a couple of RIR roos available.
I've heard that you can get good sex-link chicks using a RIR roo on Delaware hens, but what about the opposite? Could my friend and I trade roos and both get sex-link chicks, or does it only work one way?
Also, how long does the roo have to be with the flock before you start saving eggs to get the desired cross/pure bred?
Thanks!
