Beccazon
Crowing
I'll tell ya what. I posted a month or 2 back asking everyone's favorite breed. I now have my own opinion. At least from within my flock of pullets...4 RIRs, 2 brahmas and 1 BSL. (All production and cockerels excluded). My Reds are wonderful. The least skittish, the most adventurous when free-ranging, most tolerant of all humans. Fluffer, my fave of faves, allows me to hold her and stroke her when not being held. She greets me regularly and often with one or two of the other reds. She even strolls round the yard with me. The brahmas are soooo skittish but my nasty hormonal cockerels didn't help that any either. (All are separated now). The BSL is just...there. No personality. Not very skittish. Not friendly. No chirps or clucks. Just...there. I am sure glad I insisted on finding some reds when we started out. Next spring we will add another breed or two but for now...SURE DO LOVE MY REDS!
