Rival Neighborhood Gangs

I doubt theyll harm each other. Eventually your chickens will fly over your fence, if you dont keep wings clipped, and theyll be initiated into the gang.

The cocks might fight it out to determine whos in charge of the ladies. If they are game fowl cocks they might fight til the death in a dark alley. Typical gang turf wars.

One does not have to clip wings to keep chickens in their yard.
Clipping a wing on a bird will stop flight, not jumping or climbing a fence. (depends on what they want on the other side of the fence)

This thread is a bit old, but I thought I’d add that I had a hen that would go to the neighbors house every day. She came back every day to lay her eggs and roost but she loved to hang with the neighbors. Whenever I called for her she came running back because she knew I fed her. She was temporarily the only chicken I had due to predators, but whenever I got more chickens she still likes the neighbors better.

So far so good. My girls met a heron and one of the neighborhood gang without any issues. One of the neighbor's hen spent an entire day over here foraging with mine. They hung out together but she stayed a little back. They didn't seem to mind each other at all.

They were curious about the heron but didn't get too close. I'm not sure how to post the video so here is a picture.
