Hey y’all I’m trying to figure out what my chickens will look like. I can’t find anything online but I was thinking of hatching out a few crosses. Rooster is barred, Hen is Rhode Island white.

My first generation Barred Rock cross all looked like Barred Rock but a little brighter in color. The roosters had more detailed markings on their cape and saddle.

Breeding those birds together for a 2nd generation gives me about 50% breeding true to that first generation and the rest are a good variety of genetic throwbacks that look nothing like either of the original pairings.

Assuming your RIW has dominant white, the chicks will probably be mostly white with some black barred feathers.
