In the past week or so, I have discovered that Chick-Chick thoroughly ~ and I mean THOROUGHLY AND TOTALLY ~ enjoys eating roaches.
I am so NOT a bug person. I am a total townie city person. I hate 'em all, especially spiders and BIG B-52 flying roaches that thrive here in Hawai'i. So you would think I'd be ecstatic that Chick-Chick has decided that these huge things are one of her fave things to eat. Well part of me is happy b/c anything that eats bugs and destroys weeds instantly becomes my friend. Spiders to a point but they still freak me out.
Anyway, she's been eating maybe 4 a day since the roach guy came and sprayed around the house. The guy told me that once the spray was dry, it was safe for kids, chickens, etc. to be around. Thank goodness for that b/c I don't think I can get her to stop eating the ones she's finding. Well curiosity took over my senses yesterday and I actually watched her eat one. OMG I have been just SO grossed out to no end since...she tosses it around first (I swear she's playing) and she eats the legs first, a wing, and then the entire thing disappears in a sec.
AUGH I know some of you are laughing at me but I had to get this out lol...
