My first winter with my Muscovys who are going great despite the cold. Weather fluctuations here, Eastern Ontario, have created icy conditions on steps and laneway. Usually I would put down road salt. For those lucky enough not to know, this is ice-melting safety salt that is pebble sized. I'm concerned about whether the ducks would eat it because they are free-ranging during the day. Comments please.

Road salt is definitly toxic, it has alot of other elements and chemicals in it too depending on where its mined
it also burns, Dogs paws and even my own hands burn when i touch it

Sand or crusher dust would be fine

Alot of products claim to be non toxic but it worth research each before you buy
