Roadrunner's

While he or she isn't a pet or livestock. And although its not a chicken its close enough so i figured this was the best place for the pictures. We have a couple roadrunner's that come around every few days they run around the front yard chasing down bugs and little critters to eat. They are so funny and we love to watch them, although they are not fans of being watched lol. They live across our dirt road in about a 5-10 acre woodlot, not sure if they are a pair but i know they can mate for life. What cool birds, I wish I had better pics to share but i have to take them through our screened windows. Anyways enjoy.

We have a ton of Roadrunners here, our State Bird of course! We see them a lot this time of year running like crazy carrying baby birds for breakfast.

A couple of years ago I went to NM, which was my first time out west. I was in a taxi headed to my hotel, and I saw a bird booking across the parking lot. I asked the cab driver if that was a roadrunner, and he laughed and said yes. He wasn't as amused when I made him wait while I tried to take a picture (not easy!). I never could get it to hold still long enough for a good picture...
