My name is Rob Ewing from Pa. I used to hatch quail quite often when I was a young kid. Time has flown by and I am now 52 years old. I have got the bug again to hatch game birds. I set up a homemade incubator (I got alot of great ideas from looking at the members pictures). I used a 50 quart Igloo cooler, I am using 2 40 watt bulbs for heat, I have a 12 watt computer fan blowing over them, and I have a Incubator Warehouse BI-Metal thermostat. My question is I have the temperature staying at 100 degrees. I have tried to get it to go down to 99.5 but when I try to adjust the thermostat down the temperature drops to between 99 and 97 degrees. I am going to hatch ring neck pheasants. Is 100 degrees too hot. Can anyone give me any advise.
Thanks,
Rob

How Rob, Welcome to Backyard chickens. Sorry but, I know nothing about pheasants. If you go to "Other Backyard Poultry" forum above, you will find threads regarding pheasants, etc. The folks on there will be able to give you good advice.

If you go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum - you can locate and post on your state thread. You may find others keeping pheasants in your area. We have had many new members with pheasants and they do come in such beautiful colors- I can see why people want them.
