Rocky start to incubating

Just curious, what type of incubator do you have?

I'm not happy with my incubator, but I bought it without doing the research, so it's my fault. I bought a MagicFly and what I like least about it is that there is no decent insulation to keep the temperature from fluctuating much. I "calibrated" it, set the max and min, and wrapped it in a towel, but it seems to still heat up a few tenths of a degree more than I want or cool off more than I want. Usually no more than one degree each way. I don't have A/C and the temp fluctuates about 10 degrees in the house, daily. I keep it out of the sun and wind. And I'm returning it!

A friend is giving me her Little Giant that has a fan and an egg turner. It's not an old model, less than a year old. She was using it for chicks and I'll give it a good sanitize when I get it. She says it worked well for her, I should be able to get it on Friday, then test / set up for 24 hours before transferring them.

Okay, I was just wondering. I don't have a fancy one either. Mine is a Janoel 12.

It’s been a super rough first few days with the Magicfly. No matter what I did I could not control the temp well enough. At one point, briefly, it may have gone way too high. I am returning it today. Only on day 6, so I am hoping any damage was minimal to none. At least I have it under control now and I hope to get a few healthy chicks out of these 24 eggs.

Got 24 eggs yesterday! My first incubation. Super happy but I got them off to a bit of a rocky start in the first 12 hours. The temp was fluctuating too much and I didn’t realize my high and low settings were off. It went down into the 97F range and even up to close to 101F max but not higher. I’m super worried that the variation may have caused an issue. These are fresh eggs (about 3 days old when they went in) from a young and healthy hen under 2 years. I now have the temp stabilized. Could I have hurt or killed them?
don't worry my friend mine is a homemade incubator and yesterday when i woke up(i woke up late though) the weather was very hot and i ran quickly to my incubator it was like 106f then i quickly open the incubator and put off the clothes that i wrap up with it..and today i candled them and were moving so much and doing just fine as long as its under 8hrs with a high tenperature everything is alright they're a tough little ones inside a tiny egg 😎..feel free to update more

btw if there is no fan inside the incubator it is suggested to keep the temperature at101f as still air incubators have cold and hot spots
