Well my duck decided to try to hatch.....

Everybody is doing ok.It is confirmed I at least have one rooster,he mated,well monded my hen.

No, I used to but he was mean so we game him away. He was a barred rock cockerel.
I might get a rooster this year though.

Thanks @hensrule and yeah it always amazes me when I see her go into an empty nest box and when she comes out, a nice egg is laying there. I actually bred her to a nice rooster with great egg laying genetics in his background. I'm hoping to get amazing egg laying chicks from the pair, but genetics just aren't that simple, unfortunately. So I'll just see what happens if and when those eggs hatch and teach adulthood. I just hope that hen is still fertile

She probably is, they stay fertile until about or a little above her age.
How many chickens do you have all together again? Sorry I forgot how many you said you have.

Oh that's good, thanks fer the info. And I used to have 16, but I lost some to predators so I was down to like 13, but then I got 14 chicks, so I have bout 27 now and I have a silkie that's laying on some more chicken eggs(the BO egg is one of them) and those are due next week or so, so if all the eggs hatch, I should have bout 30, which is a little much

but I certainly have the space, just don't wanna spend so much on feed lol. Some of the cockerels are gonna get butchered when they reach the appropriate age so that'll knock the number down cause I'm positive that at least 6 of the 14 chicks are roosters

I have thirty BUCKS!It is a lot for me.I can and are willing to save ut for them,but now I want bantams....

homestly get bantams! m family farm is made up of mostly bantams. but we also have a peacock guineas and pigeons. bantams are so cute and remind me of the standard breeds but in dwarf form. to me they seem nicer and if they decide to peck you they cant do anything like draw blood or really hurt you since they are so small. they are my life though

We canmt keep bantams though.....we ahve all standard size and bigger birds so they would get killed....
