Mine do the same. I'm usually worried when. They do that because they do sometimes swallow some pretty pointy ice pieces. :/
Yeah I do too, but it's only ice and it melts rather quickly especially considering a chickens normal body temperature is around 106 degrees, so the pointy edges are most likely melted down before it could do real damage.but that's just my theory

That's what I thought too, like before it goes into the crop. I was worried about the inside of their mouth or throught. Nothing has happend so I don't mind as much.

Oh I see, yeah I wouldn't worry too much since nothing bad has happened. Hopefully it stays that way
 
Yeah. Do you have any broody hens? My hen yellowfeet won't get outta the nest!
One of my silkie hens was broody for most of the winter, but she quit bout 2 weeks ago. Hopefully she goes broody again later in the spring when it's actually good to have chicks lol. What breed is yellowfeet?

She's a Buff Orpington. She seems to be coming out a little more today.
