yeah! I'm just learning! actually i just started learning about it last week! cool! I want a Sultan!
I am hoping to have a show flock of both bantam and Lf sultans within the next 5-10 years. The breeder has project black bantams from the U.K. And LF white from the U.K. Next year I hope on getting some more LF sultans and use white D'uccles as my foundation for a new line of bantam sultans since that the original "combo"

E => Extended black. Turns the male duckwing into a crowwing, Male becomes a rusty black; hen less rusty black.
E^R => Birchen. Turns the male duckwing into a crowwing but leaves hackle of male and female and male saddle neatly patterned in gold or silver groundcolor; Black breast can be laced in gold or silver; somewhat flattens red tints.
E^Wh => Wheaten. Least permissive for black, most permissive for red. Males wildtype without hackle black. Females wheaten colored without salmon breast and almost no stippling on back.
e+ => Wildtype, bankiva. Males black(breasted) with gold to silver duckwing (wing triangle), hackle, saddle, shoulders; females gold or silver with salmon breast, black stippling on back and black tail.
e^b => Partridge. Males as wildtype/bankiva but somewhat heavier black striping in hackle (hackle black); females as wildtype but with stippled, not salmon breast.

Co => Columbian. Restricts black from body of males and females. Supresses salmon breast rendering both sexes gold to silver with hackle pattern and black tails. No effect (hypostatic) under birchen or extended black.
co+ => Non Columbian, recessive.
Co/co+ => Het Columbian, female might be patterned on back.

Ml => Melanotic. Enhances black (melanizer), Also shifts black pigment, Helps to form patterns. Makes a rusty animal more black. Not always behaving dominant.
ml+ => Non Melanotic, recessive.

Pg => Pattern gene. Orders black pigment in hens to concentric lacing; in males only with help of other genes.
pg+ => Not laced, recessive.

cha => Charcoal. Incomplete recessive, black enhancer (melanizer), Less effective than Ml in patterns.
Cha+ => Non Charcoal. Dominant.

Mh => Mahogany. Red enhancer and limited black restrictor.
mh+ => Non Mahogany, recessive.

Di => Dilute. Dilutes red (and gold).
di+ => Non Dilute, recessive.

ig => Inhibitor of Gold. Recessive gold diluter, Gold to lemon.
Ig+ => Non Inhibitor of Gold. Dominant.

Cb => Champagne Blond. Dominant gold diluter.
cb+ => Non Champagne, recessive.

S => Silver. Sex-linked, Turns gold groundcolor to white, Incompletely dominant.
s+ => Non Silver, Gold. Sex-linked, recessive.
S/s+ => Heterozygote Silver, males only, Groundcolor yellowish white (golden), Red shoulders not suppressed.
s^al => Sexlinked Albinism, incomplete albino. Recessive to both silver and gold.
- => This is a hen, no second sex chromosome.

B => Barred. Sex-linked, dominant.
b+ => Non Barred. Sex-linked recessive.
B/b+ => Dark cuckoo on males (heterozygote) is darker than purebreed, and comparable to hen color.
B^sd => Sexlinked Dilution, dominant to plain Barred. Homozygous males are almost white, else, like the females, a lighter form of barring.

choc => Chocolate. Sex-linked, recessive, Dilutes black pattern to chocolate color.
Choc+ => Non Chocolate. Pattern remains black.
- => This is a hen, no second sex chromosome.

I => Dominant White. Dilutes black patterns to white, Somewhat leaky.
I^d => Dun. Incomplete dominant. 1 Dose dilutes black pattern to brown, 2 doses dilute further to khaki.
I^s => Smokey. Recessive blue! Reverts the effects of dominant white to a blue color. Recessive to wildtype allele i+.
i+ => Non Dominant White. Recessive, leaves black areas black.

Bl => Blue. Incompletely dominant, 1 Dose dilutes black pattern to blue/grey, 2 doses dilute further to splash/white
bl+ => Non blue. recessive, Pattern remains black.
Bl/bl+ => Typical blue.

mo => Mottled. White feather tips or less regular white patching, Recessive.
Mo+ => Non Mottled. No white feather tips, Dominant.

c => Recessive White. No expression of color, thus white feathers.
C+ => Non Recessive White. Complete expression of color, Dominant.

lav => Lavender. Recessive, Dilutes black patterns to lavender color. Dilutes gold to isabell.
Lav+ => Non Lavender. Dominant, Pattern remains black.

I'm working hard on chicken genetics!
