So I'm raising mealworms for my quail but I want to be sure to there aren't any grain mites. I tried looking it up but I can't find clear results. Does anyone know how long and what temp to treat it in the oven for?

My personal recipe: Microwave oats in an 8x8 Pyrex for 2 minutes, then bake for 1 hour at 180 degrees.

I don't think there's any perfect answer, just one that assures that the mites don't survive but the oatmeal stays as close to uncooked oatmeal as possible.

By the way, I also like oatmeal versus bran. I've found that if I can keep oats reasonably dry, I can keep using it versus throwing it out like you would with bran.

I've never had a problem with mites or weevils in the oats I use....I use the Quaker brand oats. I also use baby carrots for moisture, gives me nice golden frass. ;)
@CovidtimeQuail , answer sounds reasonable to making sure there are no pests in the oats.
