Rolling in the mud? Dust bath right?

I made them an a dust bath area in an old tire. Today is the first time I have seen them roll in the mud in random spots in the yard. I thought maybe it was stress from the other chickens being taken by predators yesterday but I guess this is their dustbath maybe? I've never seen them do this before.

We are in the upper peninsula so it's only 50 degrees right now.
