Roman Goose hanging out with Canadian Goose???

My dad texted me pictures of a weird goose he saw on a walk wanting to know what kind it was. Looks an awful lot like a Roman goose to me… And then I was at my parents place this weekend and saw it in the canal behind their house. It appears to be mated with a Canadian Goose. Has anyone heard of anything like this before? Seems weird that a Canadian Goose would choose a domestic mate and that the domestic bird could survive.

That is def a mixed goose there with the Canada goose . Very pretty. Has your dad ever seen it fly? if it can fly then it has a much better chance of survival unless it gets shot during hunting season. Must have Roman tufted in it.

It might have been an Easter 'duckling' that some moron dumped, nice to see he's doing good.

Aww, it's so pretty! We have Canada geese coming to our one pond, and my Roman Tufted keeps going over to try and make friends with them while my other goose has been brooding. They seem to kind of snub him, but they still let him follow them around, lol.
