i have 16 new babies around 4 weeks old, is it safe to turn them in with roo and 2 hens..i haven't seen any bad behavior from roo to hens but i am worried about turning him in with chicks. i have babies out in hen house in day time, roo and hens turned out and locked away from chicks. but would like to turn everything out together, what do i do?

Not a good idea. Size is the main reason. It is best to integrate them when they are closer in size to the adult chickens. Food is another reason. The chicks need chick food until they are about 18-20 weeks old. The hens need layer food because of the extra calcium, which can harm the chicks.

Where is Texas are you ?
