Our silkie roo was attacked by a fox this morning. The fox dropped him after we came out. The roo has several puncture wounds in his abdomen. He seems to be in shock but able to move. We cleaned the wounds and used antibiotic cream. He's resting inside a clean box in the house. What else should we do for him? Can I use baby aspirin for pain? What about a stronger antibiotic? We raise goats and have several injectables. Tylan, Pro-pen G, Bio-Mycin.

Thanks
Susan

IMO, antibiotics might be needed after an animal attack. You could opt to wait, and see if the wounds heal with just the cleaning and antibiotic cream, and if there appears to be infection, give the antibiotics. Or you could start the antibiotics to be proactive.
