Roo fertilabliy

Fertility will vary from breed to breed, strain to strain within the breeds, and rooster to rooster within the strain. Generally inbred roosters lose fertility earlier than outcrossed individuals. I had a friend with seriously inbred WC black Polish. His roosters were generally sterile by the time that they were 3 or 4 years old. Healthy roosters should retain fertility far longer than that.

My wlh rooster is in the 6-7 year age range and is still breeding with the hens. I don't know if eggs fertilized by him could still hatch though :P
