well.. our roo finally met his match.. he has a tendency to randomly attack the other animals we have in the backyard (dogs and goats) and a few minutes ago he attacked our border collie's face..
so dog being dog, grabbed his chest and slammed him into the ground, ripping out a bunch of chest feathers. then when he got up and started walking away we noticed his wing was hanging limp. i got him and felt it all over and it feels like it shattered right where the wing connects to his body. i tried to feel if it was just dislocated but from what i feel under his skin, its broken.
i bandaged his wing to his body, it doesnt seem to hurt him when i touch it or mess with it, and i know flight birds generally get put down bec of broken wings bec well.. they cant fly anymore.. but my fat rooster doesnt fly anywhere and lives in my backyard and comes inside at night..
can i just keep it bandaged for awhile so it heals inside a little? would there be internal bleeding? infection? should we put him down? what're your thoughts?
heres a funny pic of him for viewing enjoyment.. lol
