Roo is ill

I have a large rooster that was given to me. He has been in great health until the last few weeks. He started just laying down more and more and then unable to really get up and walk correctly. He now mostly just lays on side with legs out. He opens his mouth fairly regularly. His feathers are fine-not in a serious molt. His comb color is still bright red and great eye color and follows well. No discharge from either end. He can and will get up to eat and drink. Body is feeling on the light side. Checked for foot injuries and none. He has always had very large spurs and the left one is shriveled half way back and it looks like the right one may do the same. Legs are big and strong but scales look like they are drying out. It is not scally mite on legs though. Treated him for body lice and am giving him electrolites in water. He is isolated from all others but I have no clue at this point other than maybe a vitamin deficiency?
Any ideas or thoughts?

Age, breed, where from (besides gift), deworming history, diet, home treat vs vet help?, pooping?, inspect the whole bird- including crop. When he gets up to eat or drink- how does he walk (limping? can he hold his head up?) It sounds like the bird is weak or becoming paralyzed. Weakness has many many reasons. Progressive paralysis is often Marek's disease, but has other causes as well.

Do not know the age or the breed. Lady had bought a bunch at RK and was part of the batch. Big guy though so maybe around 2 yrs of age. It was just given to me as it chased her grandkids around and she no longer wanted it. I have had him maybe 6 months. Poo is pretty normal in coloring although not a large mass at a time from him. Dewormed 3 mths. ago. On poultry feed from TSC/RK. No vets in a 100 mile radius or more that will see a chicken. Just a supervisor for the local 4-H. Is limited at that. Other than light in weight crop is fine and no physical body deformaties, lumps, cuts or tears. When he gets up he has been wobbly on feet. To the point of falling over. Yesterday he got up on his own for a longer period of time and ate. He had to go approx. 2 foot to feed dish. Water I try and keep next to him as well as to give him water with syringe numerous times a day. Electrolytes in water. No mouth, nose or eye dischages. No foul smells eminating from him. I will try and take a pic and post.
Question though-What does "bump" mean and also where is this "sticky" at?

That sounds like what my roo is doing. I hope someone has some ideas
