I have not had roos before so maybe this is normal. one of my Barred Rocks is missing a bunch of feathers on the back of his head/neck. My Leghorn matured early ( 8 weeks crowing ) but the BRs just started crowing now at 4 months. Should I be worried about the bald spot? I have 9 pullets and everyone free ranges from 6am till they return to the coop at night. I know the leghorn roo is constantly chasing the girls and trying to mount them.

It could be being picked on, protein deficiency, or external parasites. Look at its vent to see if there are any mites or lice running away. When they are on the roost tonight, run your hand along the roost and if you have blood smears on your hand, you have roost mites
(I don't know the real name) what are you feeding them? How big is the coop and how many birds?

8 pullets, 3 roos, 4X8' coop

I coated the neck in Blu - kote but he is still getting pecked. He didn't want to go in the coop last night after everyone was in. Suggestions? I am not sure it is the other roo even as the hens seem a little mean to him.
