Roo or hen? And what to do....

So good news for me......the woman who sold them to me as hens will exchange them for 2 caramel queens........that are 5 weeks old.

I do have another small coop/run that is near the other girls.....how old should they be before they join the big girls? Thank you!!!

I introduce mine to the adults at around 4-6 weeks of age. Just make sure that they are introduce slowly, through wire for a week or two before letting them in together, or they may be badly bullied. My hens like to peck at the chicks, but if the chicks can run away then they will be fine.

Thank you! The side by side coop shares about 12 feet of the other coop.....4 feet is wired but had a newly installed sheet of clear PVC sheeting (standing vertically) and the rest is wired. There is an opening between the two coops as one is winterized and the other (where the babies are) is a summer coop.....but that opening is closed off until I am sure all is well.
