I have 5 chicks- a few weeks old now, first time chicken mama..
2 are BR and 3 are Americaunas. One of my Americaunas is HUGE, looks a couple weeks older than the others, really agressive whenbug catching in the mini coop, not as scratchy as the other ladies, and has huge black legs and feet.. the other two A's have lighter, smaller feet. could this be a roo?

Sounds like a roo to me but it would definitely be more helpful if you could post pictures. The cockerels do most generally have thicker legs than the pullets do though.

I had a wyandotte chick this summer who was much taller and heavier than the other chicks, with an upright posture and big, thick legs. I was sure it was a male from just a few days old. I posted pictures on here, and just about everyone agreed with me.

She's 16 weeks now, and should start laying within the next month. She's a beautiful, BIG gold-laced girl, who looks nothing like my mom's GLW cockerel.
