Cockerel, I agree. The problem isn’t with the comb and wattle for an adult bird, but for a 10 week old. It’s true this baby looks like a full grown hen, but he’s not full grown.

I guess I need to start making plans to re-home it.

Yep. If you're not allowed to keep roos, you should start as soon as possible to give you as much time as possible before he crows. Check with local farms, put up a flyer at your local feed store, and make a post in the buy, sell, trade section on BYC, as well as on your state thread.

First time with a flock, my chicken Barred Rock (I believe) is 9 1/2 weeks old like the rest of my chickens, is it a Rooster or a hen?

But this bird is younger.
Or your girl is not a girl, too.
