Roo or Hen?

Who wants to play…who is a rooster in our latest bunch of chicks? I have two RIR that one has a bit more of a comb than the other but my two white leghorns are like that and they both ended up being hens. Also have one starlight green egger that I was hoping would be a pullet but was a SR fro TSC so…idk.

The pics of the RIR are just different views of the same two, we only have two.

No crowing yet, but the SGE has made a couple diff sounds when he thought the chicks were in distress and certainly “acts roostery”

They are about 9 weeks old now

Hello there.

The only pullet in the bunch is the RIR in pics 4 and 5. The rest are going to be cockerels.

I think you have three for sure cockrels and the rest pullets. RIR get that black feathering around the neck and your cockerels is starting to come in. The barred bird in your 5th picture looks like my pullet. The barred in you fourth from last is deff a cockerel. That towering black one in your fifth picture is looking like a cockerel. Sorry I’m kind of bad at breeds I haven’t felt with.

I have the same roo. purchased at TSC as a pullet. mine does his crowing every morning now. he is 11 weeks old
