You are right - It's either a rooster or you will have a dominant hen. Watch her - she may become a wonderful brooder (assuming you have another rooster). -Uncle Eric

That's a rooster. See the long, shiny, skinny saddle feathers just in front of the tail? He should have a big green tail, but it looks like one of his flockmates has been plucking him.
