Can you guys help me? I’ve never raised Brahmas and I’m wondering if I have a Roo. Also, can anyone confirm this is in fact a light Brahma?

How old? I had two light Brahmas. 1 boy and 1 girl. The girl feathered out much quicker. The boy was pretty obvious at 2-3 weeks to me. Here’s are some pictures comparing the two. The girl had an incorrect comb so it took me awhile to be sure she was a girl.

So cool and pretty! The girl looks like she has a rose comb?

Looks too dark to be a "light Brahma". Good chance it could be a "Dark Brahma". I have crossed light and dark Brahma before, and it looked slightly similar to this. Can't say for sure though until they are older... Where did you get them?
I think it may be a cross, maybe a black mottled Brahma? They are beautiful and I’m so happy with their coloring!

It’s definitely obvious in your photos, easy to spot the roo. The combs on all five of my Brahmas are similar so all I have to go by is how the other four girls have feathered out whereas this little one doesn’t look as full. Also the tail feathers are so much shorter and stick straight up.

It’s more like a cushion or walnut. It doesn’t have a point like the rose comb. Some kind of mix between is my guess.
How interesting! I actually just hatched a cockerel with the same cushioned comb as your little hen. I was thinking rose, but its still underdeveloped, but cushion seems to fit better after this conversation! Haha..
