Roo or pullet?

See I was thinking the opposite. But this is my first time sexing them. I usually just buy pullets.

I'm a new chicken lover and have recently hatched first batch of incubated eggs from our 1 rooster and 3 hens--so I became obsessed with trying to figure out sexes, which chick came from which hen, etc and couldn't help but to respond to your inquiry with my still active gut response

Actually I misspoke the dad is black copper maran.

Ok...I still am leaning toward the more orangey one being male.

Thank you!! So addicting right? I live in the cityish not like NYC, but not the country. We have a 6 chicken limit and I'm up to 15 counting my 2/6 newly hatched chicks. Luckily I live on a dead end street with nice neighbors.
I will seeing a month ke so right? I'll be sure to keep everyone uodated.

You're probably right because I usually get things wrong. Well Cocoa (the lighter one) can be a boy or girl name. However Chanel is more a girl name.

Our rooster, whom we adopted from store last summer (with 4 others, who all are hens thank goodness)--the father of our current chicks--his name is Ru Paul (as in the famous drag queen--my oldest daughter named him before we knew she is a he) buahaha
