I've been wondering this too. I think my snuggle chick is a rooster and I was wondering if she would stop snuggling with me at night once she crows or something. Every night she hops on my shoulder, snuggles in my hair and falls asleep for the night. I love it! I don't want her to stop but I'm afraid she will once she becomes a big boy.

I guess it depends on the rooster if they are human friendly or not. My snuggle chick has always liked people. More than my other chicks anyways.

I have to stop calling her a she LOL. I'm in denial. (Parents said no roosters)

I have a baby roo and some hens, and will be conbining them soon. I own a Barred Rock, who used to be the alpha. It turned out we had a roo in the batch, he became the alpha. We had to be-rid of him, but now we have a new roo. he has already started to show my hens who's boss (him, because he is my little prince!!!)

BTW,
He is a bossy little white Plymoth Rock (all plymoth rocks are bossy, at least from my experiences)

so far Rocky appears to be a female...she came from a 95% promised female batch...

if Rocky became a roo...I think Rocky would go before Pong...just because I'm not fond of the aggression...where Pong seems to be a more mellow roo so far...

Side note: my silkies Ping and Pong started roosting on a board that is about an inch off the ground...does this mean they might roost? Or is it a done deal that silkies don't roost?
