Roo that no one wants

Oh my...all this sounds so grim.

I have a young black Olive Egger that I think is a roo and a beautiful blue/gold EE that looks to be a roo. I've let myself get attached

and don't think I could possibly eat either one. I know better too.

I have roos coming with a pullet order in July. I ordered them special for freezer camp so there will not be a problem with them.
These other 2 were raised with broodies and for some reason I forgot to keep my guard up.

I pray my little Lazarus is not a roo either. I can't handle doing freezer camp with him/her at all. I'm in trouble as I live in town and can't have coops everywhere.

I have 2 unwanted baby silver lased wayondetts. There is a small trade day were I live. ROME GA. I have heard that it a happenen place for animals ? If there is one nerd u give it a try ?

I usually raise them all out to at least small eating size. Sometimes people want a specific breed of rooster. Mostly I want pullets in the grow out pens, but I leave a few of the best looking roosters in there in case someone needs a breeding quality rooster. If I have a laborer over doing some work, I offer them roosters, and if their eyes light up and they want them, I load as many as I can in a parakeet breeder cage and send them home, maybe fifteen or so. They are STOKED, my pullets have more grow out room, my feed bill goes down, they have fresh chicken for many meals to come, and I have one less cage junking up my back yard. Win win win win WIN!

I am finding homes for the especially pretty or sweet ones. The rest of them I take to a friend who has been out of work for several years. He processes them and they feed his family. I feel really good about doing that even though I do feel a momentary twinge for them, but I worry more about people going hungry.
