Roo - thick swollen toe pads, scaley legs

Standard Frizzle Cochin Roo with, swollen toe pads that hurt. Not bumble foot.

He holds this foot up to rest it... also scaley legs on him. He has been moved to duck barn, with a hen. What can I do to save him? MN weather forbids soaking. I do have Tetracycline Hydrochloride on hand. That barn is on heated water with vitamin/electrolite solution. Will plunging scaley legs into DE have any effect if it's scaley leg mites?
 
I don't think so. You can rub his legs down with vasoline or some sort of oil to kill off the current mites. Some people keep a can of PAM on hand just for that purpose.

You'll still need to soak those legs, eventually. However, if you start killing off the mites now, and treat the rest of the flock as well, he should start showing some improvement.
