Haha, yeah, one roo will take 30 hens as his too if given the chance! The ratio is generally to keep the hens sane, and to ensure fertility.

MY GOODNESS, MAYBE I NEED TO GO HEN SHOPPING. REGARDLESS IF MY OTHER 6 ARE HENS (THAT'S THE ?) OR NOT, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH. DOES FREE RANGING HELP? OR DO THEY MOSTLY PICK THEIR GIRLS AT NIGHT? MY OLDEST ROO DOES'NT HANG WITH THE OTHERS DURING THE DAY, BUT I'VE ONLY HAD HIM FOR 6 DAYS.

have'nt seen anything yet, but she has'nt starting pushing her chicks out yet either, well with the exception of the white ones which all started 6 days ago after introducing "the Baron". so i think i have a minute to shop.

What kind do you want? Bantams? Standards? Any particular breeds? You might try Mary's swap meet in Midwest CIty. I know a man in Harrah that is a chicken buyer and seller. He may find what you want. I'll try and find his number, I have it here somewhere.
Did you ever go to the Newalla auction? Things haven't been the same since it closed?

nope but i think i'm going to the cleveland county fair in norman. my husband said somethin bout mary's. i reaaaaly like my bantams but BUT BIG RED(MCLOUD REDSKINS RAH!) "THE BARON" really should have a lady his own size. he's rir maybe a buttercup(scotch) wutever their called or another rir i just think rir hens are not very attractive. so basically i need more bantie hens and 2 larger breed hens.
